Amazon promotes its new Echo Show assistant device in this ‘Alexa – Sharing is Caring’ TV commercial. The ad shows a young man giving an Echo Show to his grandpa so he can use it to play music, check the weather forecast, and much more.
Despite initially appearing unimpressed with his gift, this senior citizen then uses it to play a song for his grandson’s next visit.
Opening with the lyrics “Well sometimes I go out by myself”, this Amazon Echo Show commercial song that grandpa requests is the cover of ‘Valerie’ that was released in 2007 by British musician and record producer Mark Ronson and singer Amy Winehouse. You can stream or download the full-length version of this track from Amazon and iTunes. Valerie was originally recorded the previous year by Liverpool indie rock group The Zutons.
