Arthur & George Trailer
Airing in the UK on ITV in March of 2015 and in the US on PBS later in the year, Arthur & George is a three-part drama written by Ed Whitmore. Adapted from the 2005 Julian Barnes novel, the series is based on real events in the life of the Sherlock Holmes creator.
Plot
Following Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his secretary Alfred Wood, the story sees the pair investigate the case of George Edalji, an Anglo-Indian man imprisoned for allegedly sending anonymous abusive letters to his own family members and attacking animals in Great Wyrley. But with much doubt surrounding the young solicitors guilt, Conan Doyle sets out to prove Edalji’s innocence.
Arthur & George is set during 1906 in London and the English counties of Staffordshire and Hampshire.
