Premiere Date
Episode 1 of Fortitude is scheduled to premiere in the UK on Thursday 29 January 2015 at 9:00pm on Sky Atlantic. The series will also begin airing the same day in the US at 10e/p on the TV channel Pivot. Season 1 of Fortitude will be broadcast over 12 episodes.
Filming Locations
Taking place during 2014, Fortitude was filmed in both Britain and Iceland, including the East-Icelandic town of Reydarfjordur.
Plot
Written by Simon Donald, this is a thriller set in the fictional close-knit Arctic town of Fortitude, a location which, until now, has never known any kind of violent crime.
But following a horrific murder, the locals become deeply unsettled, threatening the future of the entire community. To find out who is responsible and discover just what happened, Detective Morton quickly flies in to assist local Police Chief Dan Anderssen in the investigation. But with Morton arriving in town so soon, Sheriff Anderssen begins to question just how little this outsider really knows.
