Episode 1: Show trials, torture and summary executions are all rife in England as King Charles II betrays his promise of tolerance and reverts to tyranny.
Episode 2: Tensions rise on both sides of the Atlantic. In Massachusetts, Ned’s father, John, dispatches him to England to avoid the King’s agents.
Episode 3: Beth’s journey to begin a new life comes to an abrupt end when her ship gets wrecked on the shores of Massachusetts. Returning to Boston, Ned is dismayed to find Hope stuck in a loveless marriage.
Episode 4: Ned returns to tell Hope he wants them to be together and Abe escapes from his Oxford jail cell. Ned and Hope then lead a group of young Bostonians in their fight for an independent America.
