The Bay is a new ITV drama series for which the first episodes start date and time has now been officially set for Wednesday 20 March at 9:00 pm.
The series plot sees lead character DS Lisa Armstrong assigned to a missing person’s police investigation which, at first appears like any other case – tragic, yet all too familiar.
As a Family Liaison Officer, Lisa’s trained not to get emotionally involved. Her duty is to support families during the worst time of their lives whilst acting as the eyes and ears of the investigation. But in this unique case, Lisa learns she has a personal connection with the family that could potentially compromise both her and the investigation.

In addition to being set there, The Bay’s filming location was also the coastal town of Morecambe, on Morecambe Bay in the county of Lancashire, in the North West of England.

Storyline
The first episode begins with Lisa enjoying a night out on the town with her female friends where, after having a few drinks and singing some karaoke, she meets a guy at the bar called Sean Meredith. After just a brief chat, the pair head for a nearby alleyway to partake in some rather crude coitus.
But little did Lisa realise at the time, she would become Sean’s unspeakable alibi for a time when his kids go missing. Understandably though, she has little desire to reveal this fact to the police investigation and goes out of her way to delete the clubs CCTV evidence. Will the truth come out and if so, who will be the one to reveal it?
