Storyline
Set in the now prosperous post-war Britain, The Outcast is billed as a romantic, uncomfortably honest, coming-of-age story.
At just 10 years of age, Lewis Aldridge loses his is mother Elizabeth, leaving him alone with a father, who due to years away at war, he hardly even knows. Later when his farther Gilbert remarries to the ill-equipped Alice, Lewis ends up relying on his friendship with neighbouring children Kit and Tamsin. Now virtually abandoned by Gilbert, Lewis’s life heads off on a downward spiral.
Premiere Date
Broadcasting on BBC One over two 90-minute episodes, The Outcast’s exact start date and time has now been officially set for Sunday 12 July, 2015 at 9:00pm. The concluding part is scheduled to air the following Sunday.
