Airing in the UK on BBC One, the start date and time for War And Peace has now been officially scheduled for Sunday the 3rd of January, 2016 at 9:00pm. The series will be broadcast over six 1-hour episodes.
Filming Locations
Getting underway in February of 2015, filming for War And Peace is taking place on location in the countries of Lithuania, Latvia and Russia.
Plot
Widely regarded as one of the greatest ever works of literature, Leo Tolstoy’s War And Peace was originally published in 1869. The story is set in Russia during the early 19th century, a period when the country was invaded by French forces, under the command of Napoleon Bonaparte. The novel focuses on life during these times as experienced by five families of Russian nobility.
